The Blue Louvre

I have changed the photographs in my gallery at my salon studio "Mark for Hair."  For this gallery I have chosen photographs taken of the Louvre, the principal museum and art gallery of France, in Paris.  The Louvre is housed in the formal royal palace built by Francis I and is recognized since the late twentieth century by the glass pyramid structures added during its remodel in the late 1980's by the famous architect I.M. Pei.

It was an extraordinary night in Paris, when I first went to the Louvre.  I call this collection, "The Blue Louvre," because, as you can see, the sky was very blue as night fell and the lights came on.  Although I was only in Paris for 10 days, there was never such a blue night again.  Also, the first photograph is one you have probably never seen….since I was told it had never happened before...but it shows the main pyramid just after the lights shorted out!  It was a good thing I had taken all the photographs I had before the lights went out!  You can see the difference when you compare it to the other photos when the lights were on!  As you can see from the photographs below, there are four glass pyramids (one large and three smaller ones) built in the courtyard of the Louvre and I walked around the courtyard and took these photographs from every angle so anyone can have the experience of walking through the Louvre courtyard on such a beautiful night!

See the photos below which show the full gallery and each photograph individually.  As the photographs appear in the salon gallery, they will also be included in photographs available for sale from this website …...click on -Travel Photography - under the tab "Gallery" above.  Or just click HERE
